Recognized in the GovTech 100 since 2017. **About the Role:** An early-career engineering position for someone with strong fundamentals and excellent collaboration skills. You'll ship real code that state and local governments depend on daily. We hire for trajectory—how fast you learn, how well you collaborate, and how much ownership you take. **What You'll Be Doing:** • Build and enhance microservices and web applications in a distributed environment • Own code quality: write unit tests, participate in code reviews, ensure correctness and security • Keep production healthy and diagnose/resolve demanding issues • Document architecture decisions and systems you touch • Design and build features end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers • Help resolve client and constituent issues, improving the product • Bring new approaches and technologies when they solve real problems **What You'll Need:** • CS degree or equivalent demonstrated capability • AI-assisted development fluency (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) with good judgment • Solid foundation in modern object-oriented language with OO design understanding • Ability to build and consume web services/APIs (REST, OAuth) • Exposure to microservices or distributed systems • Experience integrating with third-party or legacy systems • Testing discipline—unit tests as default habit • Comfort with Unix-like environments (macOS/Linux) and Git workflows • Clear written and verbal communication • Demonstrated learning velocity and track record of shipping **Why Work With Us:** • Meaningful mission improving lives of government clients and residents • Complex, interesting challenges with significant growth opportunities • Collaborative culture with a voice for everyone • Competitive salaries, excellent benefits, flexible arrangements • Corporate volunteer program supporting communities **Requirements:** U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. encouraged to apply.
