**Senior Software Engineer, Core Experience** **About the Role** Design, build, and implement software solutions to optimize and scale the Instacart platform as part of the Core Experience team. This is a remote position with flexibility to work from home, office, or your preferred location. **Key Responsibilities** • Develop highly scalable software using innovative computer science principles • Analyze and optimize expensive SQL queries • Enable data-driven features that adapt to customer shopping behavior • Lead strategic planning and execution of development projects from inception to deployment • Implement high-quality solutions for engaging shopping experiences across web and mobile • Execute testing and analysis of current systems with performance optimization **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field • 5+ years of experience with Java, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages • 5+ years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems • 5+ years of experience with API query technologies (e.g., GraphQL) • 2+ years of experience with machine learning model development • 2+ years of experience with client/server and application architectures • 2+ years of experience working with large codebases on cross-functional teams **Compensation** Base pay range: $214,000 – $221,000 USD (varies by location) Eligible for new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants **Location** Remote (continental United States) | Reports to San Francisco, CA headquarters
