## Staff Software Engineer (Backend) ### Your Impact Lead large-scale projects as an experienced backend engineer. You'll be a key contributor to your group's success, involved in long-term strategic planning, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing technical decision-making across multiple teams. ### What You'll Do • **Technical Leadership & Mentorship** – Guide engineering teams, drive technical direction, and solve organization-wide problems • **Performance Optimization** – Design systems for high performance, scalability, and reliability • **Ownership** – Identify and address product/system problems proactively • **Stakeholder Engagement** – Align architectural designs with business needs and customer expectations • **Software Development** – Design sophisticated, scalable solutions with architectural excellence • **Code Quality** – Uphold quality through rigorous review and best practices • **Technical Problem Solving** – Tackle complex challenges with innovative solutions • **Collaboration** – Work effectively across engineering and cross-functional teams • **Continuous Learning** – Stay current with technology trends and bring innovative ideas • **Technical Documentation** – Create comprehensive, accessible documentation ### Who You Are • 10+ years of backend engineering experience (SaaS/cloud-based focus) • Proven leadership in significant software projects • Experience with large-scale, high-availability systems • Security-focused design and development expertise • Microservices architecture mastery (Docker, Kubernetes) • Cloud provider expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Proficiency with relational/non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra) • Strong programming skills (Java/Kotlin, Python, C#) • SDLC knowledge across design, development, testing, and deployment ### Nice to Have • Experience with 3rd party component selection and extension • Agile development methodologies • Feature/release toggles experience • Observability systems expertise (logging, metrics, traces) • RESTful APIs and gRPC implementation • CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) ### Perks • Open, inclusive, fun environment • Medical, dental, vision insurance + 401(k) • Competitive salary + RSUs • Flexible PTO • Growth opportunities **Note:** Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
