**Senior Software Engineer, Payments Platform** **About the Role** Lead the architecture and implementation of a highly available, fault-tolerant, and performant billing platform that scales to billions of viewers across AWS/GCP. You'll own key initiatives end-to-end while coding roughly 80% of the time. Evaluate and adopt new technologies, design shared architectural layers (queuing, event systems, shared memory), and collaborate across Product, Engineering, QA, and Ops to deliver resilient services. **What You'll Be Doing** • Lead evaluation and implementation of new technologies and architectural designs • Build and ship features using AI coding tools while ensuring code quality and production readiness • Engage in architectural discussions across teams and influence the roadmap • Provide technical leadership to drive platform capabilities for high availability and scalability • Own design and implementation of shared architectural layers and libraries • Be actively involved in code/design reviews (coding 80% of the time) • Evangelize best practices and platform innovation across all functions **We're Excited If You Have** • 10+ years architecting and running large-scale services in subscriptions, payments, or billing • Expertise in subscription/payment flows (tax, payment, purchase, renewal, dunning, cancellation, invoicing) • Advanced hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) • Experience building diverse workloads (streaming, APIs, notifications, batch) • Strong architectural design experience with highly available, scalable subscription platforms • Strong expertise with AWS or GCP • Experience designing complex transactional systems • Passion for automation and CI/CD pipelines • Multi-cloud experience is a plus **Compensation & Benefits** CA Salary: $186,000 - $388,000 annually (based on qualifications and location) Health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and PTO **Work Environment** Hybrid: Office Monday-Thursday, flexible Friday remote work (role dependent)
