**Field Reliability Engineer - Underscore Reconnaissance & Strike** **About the Role** Anduril Maritime is seeking a Field Reliability Engineer to own bugs found in deployed autonomous underwater/surface vehicles. You'll reproduce field issues, identify root causes, ship real fixes to the codebase, and document what happened—building cross-subsystem fluency that leads to subsystem ownership and roadmap work. **What You'll Do** • Diagnose field-reported anomalies and pinpoint the actual subsystem responsible • Reproduce issues using recorded sensor/mission data through live pipelines • Leverage metrics, dashboards, and centralized logs to reconstruct system state • Validate fixes in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop before deployment • Write production fixes in Rust, C++, Python, Go, or other subsystem languages—with tests and CI • Distinguish between bugs, misconfigurations, and deployment mismatches • Document root causes and build on-call/triage runbooks • Push back when subsystems need real changes, not symptom patches **Required Experience** • Proven debugging of unfamiliar code under time pressure with incomplete information • Fluency in at least two of: Rust, modern C++, Python, Go • Systems-debugging instincts (logs, metrics, offline reproduction) • Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki/ELK) • Linux and systems fluency • Clear technical writing and root-cause analysis • Comfort with hardware and sensors (no maritime/robotics background required) • Willingness to travel 25%+ of the time **Nice to Have** • Robotics middleware, sensor drivers, or real-time data pipeline experience • Simulation-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing • CI/CD and versioned deployment for embedded/fleet software • On-call or field-support experience for shipped hardware **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **US Salary:** $166,000–$220,000 USD • Competitive equity grants • Top-tier benefits package **Career Path** This is a genuine entry point.
