## Tech Lead Manager, Decision Platform ### About the Role Chime is looking for an engineering leader to manage and guide one of the Trust & Safety engineering teams. TLMs at Chime manage a team of 3-5 engineers, setting hiring bars, coaching talent, and driving people management while staying hands-on with code. **Compensation:** $211,000 - $248,000 base salary + bonus, equity, and benefits ### Key Responsibilities • Manage and develop a squad of 4-5 engineers (hiring, 1:1s, career coaching, performance) • Own end-to-end delivery from sprint planning through SLAs and operational health • Write and ship production code alongside your team • Drive technical direction, architecture, and quality standards • Leverage AI coding agents to increase team leverage and productivity • Partner with Product and Design on scope, prioritization, and quarterly planning • Serve as cross-functional point of contact for technical capabilities • Identify technical debt and advocate for sustainable engineering • Ensure quality, performance, and healthy on-call/incident-response culture • Build growth paths for engineers toward IC or TLM roles • Contribute to broader engineering leadership initiatives ### What We're Looking For • 2+ years of people management experience • Current, hands-on coding ability with desire to continue • Track record using AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) with measurable team impact • Experience coaching team members on execution, skill development, and career progression • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Analytics • Passion for team and organizational growth • Experience with: Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services, Service Oriented Architectures ### About Chime Chime is a financial technology company empowering millions to achieve financial progress through user-friendly tools and intuitive platforms.
