**Information Systems Advisor II - z/OS Administration** **Location:** Springfield, IL (501 S 2nd St, Sangamon County) **Employment Type:** Full Time **Salary:** $8,020 - $14,138 monthly (commensurate with experience) **Division:** Technology Office **Union:** IFT **Overview:** Plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates complex technical software functions for the ILSOS Mainframe environment. Maintains, modernizes, and optimizes the z/OS operating system and core subsystems, oversees IBM SAN storage and VTL environments, and supports IBM mainframe hardware infrastructure. **Key Responsibilities:** • Maintain and optimize z/OS operating systems and core subsystems (TWS, DB2, CICS, MQ) • Support IBM mainframe hardware infrastructure and manage performance/capacity • Implement and maintain vendor software; provide 24×7 on-call support • Manage IBM SAN storage, replication, and VTL systems • Administer z/OS networking (TCP/IP, routing, encryption, z/OS Connect) • Monitor and maintain disaster recovery environment • Administer mainframe security using RACF • Monitor and tune system performance using Omegamon, RMF, and WLM • Guide staff in z/VM configuration and maintenance • Ensure comprehensive technical documentation **Requirements:** • 2 years college coursework in computer science + 4.5 years technical/programming/IT project management experience (including 1+ year supervisory) • Extensive knowledge of systems design, implementation, and computer operations • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities • Valid Illinois driver's license • Authorized to work in the United States **To Apply:** Visit https://ilsos.applytojob.gov/apply **Contact:** Chicago (312-793-5515) or Springfield (217-782-4783) **Equal Opportunity Employer**
