**Staff Software Engineer (C++) - Radar Sensors** **About Latitude AI** Latitude AI (lat.ai) develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop autonomous driving technology at startup speed. Headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, MI and Palo Alto, CA. **The Role** Join the Embedded Software team developing hardware drivers, safety monitoring, and vehicle interfaces for autonomy systems. You'll lead sensor firmware development for Lidar, Radar, and networking functions—delivering safe, efficient embedded software for sensing systems. **What You'll Do** • Deliver safe and efficient embedded software for Radar, Lidar, and IMU sensors • Develop high-quality, maintainable C++ code with the Software Architect • Mentor junior team members on technical design and participate in code reviews • Design, implement, and test high-performance C++ in resource-constrained environments • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional hardware/systems engineers **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, Robotics, or related field + 7+ years experience (or Master's + 5+ years, or PhD + 2+ years) • Strong embedded C++ development experience • Proficiency in network communication (protocols, physical layer, bandwidth, configuration) • Strong software design, algorithm, and problem-solving skills • Experience with multi-processor SoCs or embedded processors • Familiarity with Embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux preferred) • Experience with safety-critical sensing systems preferred **Nice to Have** • Experience with network-based sensors (radar, lidar) • Track record of technical leadership in automotive, bringing products to production **Compensation & Benefits** **Salary:** $218,240 - $327,360 USD (California, full-time) Plus: Annual bonus, equity compensation, and comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, paid parental/medical leave, unlimited vacation, 15 paid holidays, wellness stipend, professional development reimbursement, and more. **Equal Opportunity Employer** | Visa sponsorship available | Must be legally authorized to work in the US
