## Billing Systems Architect ### About Upsun Upsun is the cloud application platform built for today's hybrid teams. Developers, DevOps engineers, and platform teams use Upsun to build, ship, and scale confidently without wrestling with backend infrastructure. ### Role Impact As an Enterprise Billing Systems Architect, you'll be the technical anchor of our billing infrastructure, ensuring revenue operations, pricing structures, and financial integrations run seamlessly as we scale. You'll bridge Finance, Product, and Engineering teams while owning our Quote-to-Cash platform. ### Key Responsibilities • **Billing Infrastructure & Administration** – Configure catalogs, price cards, usage rating rules, and automated invoice schedules • **System Operations & Maintenance** – Own platform health, updates, pricing launches, and troubleshooting • **Data Ingestion & Analysis** – Use SQL for data validation, rating engine auditing, and operational reporting • **Integrations & API Management** – Maintain API-driven connections to CRMs, ERP/GL tools, and payment gateways • **Revenue Recognition Alignment** – Ensure ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliance • **Cross-Functional Collaboration** – Gather requirements from Accounting, Finance, Sales Ops, and Product teams • **Data Integrity & Migration** – Maintain billing data continuity without disrupting financial operations ### What You Bring • Proven hands-on experience with Q2C platforms (Zuora, Salesforce Revenue Cloud, NetSuite Billing, Aria Systems, or BillingPlatform) • Strong SQL proficiency and solid grasp of REST APIs, webhooks, and ETL workflows • Experience with complex SaaS/infrastructure pricing models (PLG, usage-based, tiered rates) • Practical understanding of revenue recognition fundamentals (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) • Ability to bridge technical and financial business logic • Methodical problem-solving and troubleshooting approach ### Bonus Points • DigitalRoute mediation software or Kafka experience • Cloud infrastructure, PaaS, or developer-platform background • System migration experience from implementation partners ### Where We Hire Remote-first, global team.
