**Security Engineer** at Five9 **About the Role** Join Five9's security team as a Security Engineer focused on incident response, detection engineering, and security automation. This role is heavily engineering-focused rather than traditional SOC work—you'll write code, build automation, and work with AI-enriched triage pipelines. *Requires Pacific Time hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)* **Key Responsibilities** • **Incident Response** – Own incidents end-to-end: scoping, containment, forensics, and remediation • **Detection Engineering** – Write, tune, test, and retire detections with version control and outcome-based measurement • **IR Automation** – Build playbooks, integrations, and workflows to eliminate manual response steps • **Threat Intelligence** – Track relevant activity and convert it into detections and hardening work • **Threat Hunting** – Contribute to hypothesis-led hunting initiatives • **AI Development** – Build and improve agents, prompts, and enrichment logic for the triage pipeline • **Alert Triage** – Handle escalations and provide feedback to improve the pipeline **Required Qualifications** • Hands-on security operations experience with detailed incident knowledge • Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language • Working knowledge of detection logic, log pipelines, EDR, identity, cloud, network, and SaaS telemetry • Ability to define problems, scope solutions, and execute independently • Strong written communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** • GCP and/or AWS experience (logging, IAM, cloud-specific failure modes) • Low-code automation platforms (Tines, n8n) • Agent programming and LLM prompt engineering • Experience with AI-enriched detection pipelines **Work Environment** Fully remote for candidates outside 30-mile radius of offices; hybrid (3 days/week: T, W, TH) for those within radius.
