**Infrastructure & Platform Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) — AWS (Databricks)** **Role overview** As an Infrastructure & Platform Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) — AWS, you’ll be a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them through the architecture, administration, and security of their Databricks deployments on AWS. You’ll partner with Solutions Architects to design and deploy mission-critical workloads and align customer technical roadmaps with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This role can be **remote**. **The impact you will have** - **Technical leadership:** Guide strategic customers through the full lifecycle of Databricks on AWS—from initial architecture through production deployment. - **Production-grade architecture:** Design secure, scalable enterprise deployments meeting AWS networking (VPCs, PrivateLink), identity (AWS IAM / AWS IAM Identity Center), and security compliance requirements. - **Domain expertise:** Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), cloud networking, and identity management. - **Pre-sales collaboration:** Support complex technical sales cycles by building custom PoC architectures and technical content on AWS. - **Community & knowledge sharing:** Deliver tutorials, run hackathons, speak at conferences, and contribute to the Databricks open-source community. **What we look for** - **5+ years** hands-on experience in a technical role with deep expertise in **AWS**, including cloud security, networking best practices, and enterprise data platform design. - **2+ years** experience with distributed architectures and big data technologies (e.g., **Apache Spark**, Hadoop, Kafka). - **2+ years** in a customer-facing technical role (Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, or Consulting). - Specialized expertise in at least one area: - **Security & Identity:** AWS security controls, encryption, vulnerability management, compliance, and identity protocols (AWS IAM, AWS IAM Identity Center, SCIM, OAuth, SAML, Federation). - **Networking & Deployments:** AWS enterprise networking (VPC peering, AWS Direct Connect, PrivateLink), routing, performance optimization, and large-scale deployment management. - **Platform Administration:** High availability, disaster recovery, cluster orchestration, observability (Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail), and AWS Cost Management. - **Infrastructure Automation (InfraOps):** Automation using IaC tools (e.g., **Terraform**, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK) to build, maintain, and scale AWS environments. - Hands-on experience with **Python, Java, or Scala**, plus strong **SQL**. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - **Nice to have:** Databricks and/or AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Data Engineer). - Ability to hit role-specific training and technical delivery milestones within the first **6 months**. - Willingness to travel up to **30%** as needed. **Pay range (US)** - **$219,100 — $301,300 USD** **About Databricks** Databricks is the Data and AI company.
