**Senior Engineering Manager for Self-Serve (Learning)** **About the Role** Lead the Learning initiative end-to-end as a Senior Engineering Manager on Databricks' Self-Serve team. Own a 0→1 product spanning self-paced learning (skill courses, hands-on labs, skill profiles) and enterprise-managed learning (admin tools for assignment and tracking). Build and scale a team of ~12 engineers (planned to double) to deliver AI-powered learning at scale. **Key Responsibilities** • **Strategy & Vision** – Define technical and product strategy for Learning within the broader self-serve growth motion • **Execution Ownership** – Own roadmap, execution, and delivery from early signal to millions of learners • **Engineering Excellence** – Establish best practices in design reviews, code quality, testing, and performance for high-scale systems • **Cross-Functional Collaboration** – Partner with R&D, Learning & Enablement, Marketing, and Field Engineering **What We're Looking For** • 15+ years software engineering experience with strong technical leadership track record • 5+ years engineering management (2+ managing managers or clear readiness) • Staff-engineer-caliber IC background with full-stack expertise (backend + frontend) • Proven experience scaling teams from 10 to 30+ engineers • Track record building and scaling consumer-facing products from 0→1 • Experience designing scalable, distributed SaaS systems • Genuine excitement for product-led growth and AI in production **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 $222,000 – $300,000 USD (location-dependent) Plus: Annual performance bonus, equity, comprehensive benefits **About Databricks** The Data and AI company trusted by 20,000+ organizations including 70% of Fortune 500.
