**Prismatic — Director of Engineering** [Prismatic](https://prismatic.io/) is the integration platform that helps B2B software companies build integrations fast and deliver them at scale—turning integrations from a bottleneck into a growth driver. ## About the role We’re hiring a **Director of Engineering** to lead the Engineering organization. This role reports directly to the **CTO** and is the single engineering leader across **two teams** (currently **8 engineers**, with a plan toward **~12**). This is **not** a manager-of-managers role—you’ll be **directly managing** the team. You’ll own the full scope of execution: **process, feature delivery, and quality**, while maintaining a highly engaged group of people. ## What you’ll do - Partner with Product to drive execution across initiatives: **on-time delivery, quality, and consistency** - **Manage, coach, and grow** engineers (regular 1:1s, high-quality feedback, growth conversations) - Staff each initiative with the right **Tech Lead** and develop the Tech Lead bench so ownership spreads - Surface and resolve cross-initiative risks (staffing gaps, priority collisions, delivery delays) - Contribute to hiring: help find, close, and ramp the next engineers - Contribute technically where it helps (architecture review, tech-debt analysis, scaling challenges) ## About you - Demonstrated progression from technical to leadership, including experience managing **multiple engineering teams** in a **fully remote** environment - Operated as the senior-most engineering leader (or close to it); comfortable being the **only manager** without a layer beneath you - Significant technical experience in at least one area of the stack; able to speak credibly in **architecture and scoping** conversations - Proven partner to Product on **scope, estimation, and delivery commitments** - Experience managing remote teams and **excellent written communication** - Thrives on accountability and bias to action; strong desire to **empower individuals** and win as a team - Experience at a **scaling SaaS startup** in varying roles ### Bonus if you have experience with/in - AI-enabled software development - Developer-facing products - High-scale SaaS platforms ## Our tech stack - **Cloud:** AWS - **Databases:** Postgres, Redis - **Backend API:** Python, Django - **Backend Integration Platform:** TypeScript - **Frontend:** TypeScript, React - **SDKs:** TypeScript ## Pay range - **$220,000 – $250,000 / year**, plus equity - Most new hires start near the midpoint based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with room to grow within the range over time. ## Life at Prismatic **Values** - **Give a Shit** — passion and drive; we treat our work as meaningful - **Progress Over Perfection** — daily progress, move fast, iterate - **Same Team** — succeed together; we don’t tolerate assholes **What to expect** We operate with urgency, ownership, and high standards.
