About this role

**Senior Salesforce & Integration Engineer** VTS runs a complex, high-volume revenue motion—Salesforce CPQ feeding NetSuite via middleware—with mid-contract amendments (upsells, cross-sells, volume changes, downgrades, and product churn) happening continuously. The integration layer is functional but manual-heavy, underdocumented, and not built to scale. Additionally, the CRM/CPQ system requires customization to optimize deal workflows for accuracy and timely contract execution. This is **not** a Salesforce admin role. We need someone who writes clean **Apex**, understands how **CPQ order data** must land in an **ERP**, designs and improves **middleware architecture**, and treats **release management** as a professional discipline. You’ll work closely with the RevOps system team and Salesforce Architect, partnering with Finance and Sales. You’ll be an internal technical voice who evaluates and challenges partner proposals—knowing when to push back when something is wrong. **Location / Schedule** - **New York, NY** - **In-office 4 days/week** --- ## What you can expect ### Salesforce / CPQ - Own technical customization and development in Salesforce (**LWC, Apex classes/triggers, flows**, etc.) - Manage scaling of custom objects that support pre/post sales teams and internal workflow needs - Write and maintain **Apex triggers, classes, and flows** supporting Salesforce + CPQ business logic - **Test classes** with **90%+ coverage** as a floor (not a ceiling) ### Integration Architecture & Development - Partner with third-party implementation firms on the integration build and growth connecting **Salesforce CPQ → NetSuite** - Serve as the internal technical reviewer (not just an observer) - Own the internal integration layer as it matures: **field mappings, error handling, retry logic, monitoring** - Keep business logic out of middleware; enforce this principle in design decisions - Help define a **middleware-agnostic data model** and make decisions that avoid future technical debt - Understand how integration data feeds downstream **Revenue and Billing** systems (you don’t need to be rev rec expert, but you must know what breaks when data is wrong) - Build integrations with other tools in the RevOps stack as needed to improve processes and data reliability - Leverage AI tooling (e.g., **Claude Code**) to increase development velocity using **SF APIs** and **MCP** ### Release Management & Developer Discipline - Own and enforce a proper release process (**Gearset or Copado**, Git-based version control, branching strategy, environment management across dev/QA/UAT/prod) - **Eliminate change set deployments** (no change sets after you join) - Write test classes that validate behavior (not just coverage) and hold a high bar for code quality in reviews - Document everything in plain language: architecture decisions, field mappings, integration flows, known edge cases - Require the same release discipline from third-party partners (same pipeline, not ad-hoc) --- ## What makes you a great fit - **Salesforce CPQ** hands-on experience (amendment flows, product configuration, pricing rules, renewal logic). Not just someone who has touched CPQ. - **Apex development**: clean, testable code; test classes are part of your practice; **90%+ coverage** is your baseline - **Integration experience**: understand how Salesforce data must be structured for ERP consumption; worked with middleware (e.g., **Celigo, Workato, Boomi**, or equivalent) and
