By unifying **SMS, RCS, email, and push notifications**, our AI-powered personalization engine delivers bespoke experiences that drive performance, revenue, and loyalty through real-time behavioral insights. **About the Role** The **Segment Optimization** team is the backbone of Attentive’s audience-segmentation infrastructure—processing, storing, and optimizing data at massive scale and speed. You’ll build and improve distributed data applications that power our segmentation platform and enable near-real-time audience insights and AI-driven personalization. **What You’ll Accomplish** - Build and improve systems that power audience segmentation for **100M+ customers**, enabling personalized experiences across the platform - Own well-scoped features end to end across distributed data applications (design → implementation → testing → deployment → operation) - Partner with engineering, product, and design to deliver high-quality, impactful software - Develop a deep understanding of the services you own and how data flows through the platform - Contribute to team and engineering-wide improvements (process, infrastructure, system enhancements) - Use AI tools to move quickly while focusing on system behavior, architecture, and thoughtful design tradeoffs **Your Expertise** - **2–4 years** of experience as a Software Engineer; strong backend foundation and desire to deepen distributed systems skills - Experience with **Java, Python, or Go**; strong understanding of OOP design, algorithms, and optimization - Familiarity with **relational and non-relational databases**; understand how data modeling and access patterns affect performance and reliability - Strong grasp of clean, correct code and best practices (data structures, algorithms, software design) - Ownership mindset: care about end-to-end impact, including reliable operation and customer value - Clear communication and effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teammates - Comfortable working through ambiguity and turning business goals into clear deliverables **Compensation (US based applicants)** - Base salary range: **$135,000 – $170,000 annually** + equity + benefits - Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location **Equal Opportunity** Attentive is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
