**Network & Systems Engineer** **About the Role** Vox Media is seeking a Network & Systems Engineer to own the design, operation, and evolution of enterprise office network, studios, and production facilities. This hands-on role on a small, high-trust infrastructure team focuses on end-to-end network ownership, with primary responsibility for Juniper infrastructure and Cato Networks SASE/SD-WAN platforms. **Key Responsibilities** • Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network across offices, data centers, cloud, and remote connectivity • Serve as senior technical resource for Juniper networking environment • Administer Cato Networks SASE platform including SD-WAN and secure remote access • Define future network architecture direction, including potential migrations to Cisco/Meraki • Design and support LAN, WAN, wireless, and internet connectivity across multiple locations • Configure VLANs, routing, switching, ACLs, NAT, DHCP, DNS, BGP, and OSPF • Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/3 issues with packet-level analysis • Monitor network availability, performance, and capacity • Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption • Manage ISP and vendor relationships • Support server, virtualization, cloud, and identity infrastructure (AWS, VMware, Windows/Linux) • Participate in on-call rotation and root-cause analysis • Develop automation using scripting, APIs, or infrastructure-as-code tools • Assist with service desk support as needed **Required Qualifications** • 6+ years professional experience in network and infrastructure engineering • Strong hands-on production experience with Juniper/Junos • Relevant certifications (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP, CCNA, or CCNP) • Production experience with Cisco and/or Meraki • Deep understanding of enterprise TCP/IP networking and Layer 2/3 switching • Systematic troubleshooting skills with monitoring and packet capture tools • Experience planning and executing network upgrades • AWS networking experience (VPCs, routing, VPNs) • Systems administration or infrastructure engineering experience • Ability to independently own technical projects • Ability to work onsite up to 5 days/week in Lower Manhattan (Financial District) **Nice to Have** • SASE/SSE platform experience (Cato Networks, Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access) • Vendor migration experience • Juniper Mist experience • Enterprise wireless design and troubleshooting • Firewall and network-security platforms • VMware or virtualization experience • Infrastructure automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform) • Identity platforms (Okta) and enterprise SaaS • Media, broadcast, or production environment experience **What We Offer** Permanent, full-time, benefits-eligible position **Salary Range:** $120,000 – $150,000 USD **Equal Opportunity Employer** Vox Media is committed to building an inclusive environment and considers all qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics.
