Senior Applications Engineer, Enterprise Build
Robinhood · Menlo Park, CA
About this role
## Join us in building the future of finance Our mission is to democratize finance for all. Robinhood is seeking a **Senior Applications Engineer** to join **Enterprise Build**—a small, high-leverage team that turns AI-built prototypes into true enterprise-grade services. ### About the team + role You’ll help graduate prototypes into native enterprise services across Robinhood’s corporate ecosystem (e.g., **Okta identity**, **Google Workspace**, **Slack**, **ServiceNow**, **Atlassian**, and the agent fabric that makes services agent-accessible by default). You’ll own the front of the pipeline: perform rapid technical intake assessments to determine whether prototypes should **self-serve in the sandbox**, become a **Build engagement**, or be **better bought than built**. You’ll partner with SWE teammates to rebuild prototypes into production services and deliver the many “graduations” that are primarily **integration, configuration, and workflow automation** (with targeted glue code when needed). This role operates in a heavily regulated industry—**safe-by-default** and playbooks you help write are essential. **Location:** Menlo Park, CA — **in-person at least 3 days/week**. --- ## What you’ll do - **Own intake assessment** for the graduation pipeline: evaluate prototypes, data classification, system touchpoints, integration surfaces, risk flags, and recommend **sandbox / build / buy**. - **Make graduated services native to the enterprise:** **SSO via Okta**, **SCIM provisioning**, **audit logging**, and user-facing surfaces in **Slack**, **Google Workspace**, and **ServiceNow**. - **Deliver integration-led graduations** end-to-end where configuration + workflow automation + targeted glue code beat a ground-up rebuild. - **Build and maintain MCP integrations and automations** connecting Build services to Robinhood’s SaaS estate, enabling agent accessibility by default. - **Partner with business stakeholders** to map real workflows before building, and act as the translator throughout the engagement. - Collaborate with **Enterprise Platforms** (identity + application onboarding) and **Enterprise Operations** (clean operational handoffs). - **Apply approved AI tools** to automate repetitive assessment, integration, and documentation so you can focus on judgment. --- ## What we’re looking for - Hands-on experience across a modern **enterprise SaaS estate**, including **Okta** (identity, SSO, lifecycle), **Google Workspace**, **Slack**, **ServiceNow**, **Atlassian**, and integration/workflow automation platforms (e.g., **Workato** or similar). - Strong **scripting and API fluency** (e.g., **Python** or similar) for glue code/automation, with working depth in **REST**, **webhooks**, **OAuth**, and **SCIM**. You ship working integrations (not required to be a full-stack systems engineer). - Proven ownership of at least one significant service/platform area as a domain expert, with sound decisions under medium-to-high ambiguity. - An **assessor’s eye**: quickly understand what an unfamiliar app touches, depends on, and what it takes to run safely. - Exceptional **analytical and communication skills**—able to translate technical complexity for both executives and engineers. - Proven ability to work independently in high-ambiguity situations, define scope where none exists, and build trust across functions. - Experience in **highly regulated industries** (especially finance/fintech) is strongly preferred. --- ## What we offer - Challen
