## Precision for Medicine — Principal Database Programmer **Location:** Fully remote (from European locations) **Employment:** Full-time, permanent ### Job Summary The **Principal Database Programmer** manages all programming aspects of the database—from **study start through post database lock**—for assigned projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners (e.g., **Data Management, Project Management, EDC vendors, clients, and third-party vendors**) to provide status updates, gather requirements, ensure databases are developed/maintained/managed, and confirm compliance with **regulatory guidelines**. You will also lead operational study and programming team members, provide operational/technical training to end users and junior staff, and deliver planning estimates for scope, schedules/timelines, forecasting, and resource requirements. ### Main Duties & Responsibilities - Own assigned projects and ensure **on-time delivery**; communicate project status to internal teams and study stakeholders. - Maintain awareness of contract scope and key elements; provide status updates to the Project team as needed. - Forecast project hours, identify resource requirements, and manage project budgets (including out-of-scope work and post-production changes). - Provide input and guidance on the design of **clinical databases** for clients and internal teams. - Build and support clinical databases. - Develop, test, and validate programs and clinical databases supporting client projects and third-party applications. - Provide system administration and advanced technical support for internal applications, clinical databases, client projects, and third-party applications. - Troubleshoot and resolve software and clinical database issues. - Develop and maintain study-specific validation documentation. - Support Data Management for client projects from **CRF design** through post database close and archival. - May design, develop, and validate internal applications and third-party/client-related applications. - Participate in software vendor selection. - Participate in EDC demonstrations and trainings. - Contribute to development and maintenance of **SOPs** and process documentation related to data/database management activities. - Support onboarding of new hires. - Provide leadership for cross-functional and organization-wide initiatives (as applicable).
