**Senior IT Engineer — Posit (IT Operations)** We’re seeking an experienced, driven **Senior IT Engineer** to serve as a senior technical contributor on **Posit’s IT Operations** team. You’ll support a distributed workforce, corporate systems, and Posit’s **enterprise AI infrastructure**—taking ownership of critical platforms, leading cross-team technical efforts, and mentoring more junior team members. --- ## What you’ll own - **End-to-end ownership of one or more core IT platforms** (e.g., **Okta, Google Workspace, Jamf Pro, Zoom, Slack**) and/or **automation platform infrastructure** (e.g., **n8n, Workato, Okta Workflows**)—including configuration, health, security posture, and roadmap. - **Complex technical escalations** across end-user devices (**macOS, Windows, Linux**) and SaaS applications as the senior point of contact beyond Tier 1. - **Design and implementation of improvements** to employee technology workflows (onboarding/offboarding, device lifecycle, access provisioning) with scalability in mind. - **Day-to-day operational ownership** of Posit’s **enterprise AI platform** and supporting integrations (including **SSO/SCIM health**, license management, desktop deployment via **MDM**, and front-line support for complex issues). - **Technical mentorship** of IT Engineers (pairing on tickets, reviewing PRs, leveling up team practices). - **Maintenance of SaaS configurations, device controls, access controls, and patch management** aligned to approved security/compliance guidelines. - **Creation and upkeep of technical documentation** (runbooks and playbooks) for systems and processes you own. - **Scheduled audits** of IT-controlled systems and coordination of remediation. - **Driving IT’s GitOps practice forward** for owned systems via version-controlled code, PR workflows, and peer review. --- ## What you’ll assist with - Defining/refining **engineering standards** (IaC patterns, code review expectations, exception processes). - **Procurement and vendor evaluation** with an eye toward automation, configuration-as-code, and integration. - Enforcing procedures that safeguard **information security and safety** within IT processes. - Tracking **hardware/software assets** (licenses, warranties, accounts) and identifying capacity/spend trends. - Responding to **internal/external audit requests** with **GRC and Security**. - Supporting rollout of approved **MCP integrations** and AI workflows (owning identity, access, deployment, and monitoring layers). - Recommending and implementing IT process improvements—favoring **automation over manual toil**. --- ## About you - Significant progressive IT experience, including meaningful time as a **system administrator/engineer** in a **SaaS-first or distributed** environment. - Strong problem-solving skills using investigation and deductive reasoning; know when to escalate vs. dig in vs. redesign. - Empathetic, relationship-driven collaboration; can translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences and work effectively with Security/Engineering/Legal. - Self-driven with initiative and consistently high professional conduct. - Highly ethical, strong decision-making, and excellent time management. - Strong documentation skills; questions assumptions and drives change to mitigate risk. - Deep working knowledge of corporate technologies such as **identity providers, MDM, productivity suites, and endpoint security** (e.g., **Okta, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Fleet, Google Work
