**Software Engineer - Simulation & Flight Systems** **About the Role** Design, develop, and own critical software powering exploration and validation of next-generation technologies across SpaceX flight systems. You'll take full ownership of features in a scalable, high-performance application spanning the entire design-build-test-operations pipeline, while contributing to control and flight system software. **Key Responsibilities** • Rapidly develop prototypes proving key design concepts • Develop high-performance modules for real-time flight systems data streaming • Contribute to test automation and CI/CD infrastructure • Create and maintain high-fidelity simulation and flight software • Improve reliability, performance, and scalability of simulation and flight platforms • Partner with engineers to design and deliver new features **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, math, or science + 1+ years software development experience; OR 3+ years professional software development experience • Professional experience with C++, Rust, or Go **Preferred Qualifications** • Data streaming and real-time data processing experience • Data serialization formats (JSON, YAML, XML, Protobuf) • Python, Java, or C# experience • Docker and Kubernetes experience • Relational database experience (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and testing skills • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one **Additional Requirements** • Top Secret Security Clearance required as condition of employment • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary • ITAR compliance: Must be U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee **Compensation** Level 1: $125,000 - $160,000 | Level 2: $145,000 - $195,000 *+10% differential with active clearance (up to $20k annually)* Comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), stock options, 3 weeks PTO, and more.
