**SpaceX — Full Stack Software Engineer (Simulation & Flight Systems)** SpaceX is building the technologies to enable human life on Mars. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and own critical software that powers the exploration and validation of next-generation technologies across every SpaceX flight system. You’ll take full ownership of features in a suite of high-performance, scalable web applications spanning the design-build-test-operations pipeline—helping expand capabilities in both ground and space systems. **What you’ll do** - Build full-stack solutions that manage analysis, prototypes, and vehicles by integrating simulation software, emulators, and flight software - Rapidly develop prototypes that prove key design concepts and quantify technical constraints - Create and maintain high-fidelity simulation and emulation software for all vehicles—always raising the bar for excellence - Continuously improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of simulation platforms - Partner closely with users to design and deliver new features that improve experience and productivity **Basic qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering/math/science + 1+ years of software development, **or** 3+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree - 1+ years building full-stack, single-page web applications using JavaScript libraries (e.g., React, Lit) - Professional experience developing applications using Python, C, C++, or Rust - Experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle) **Preferred qualifications** - Experience programming in object-oriented languages (C++, Java, Python, or C#) - Strong software design and development skills - Experience building highly available, concurrent systems - Experience with containerized solutions (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with Linux/Unix systems and tools - Experience with high-performance computing systems - Experience contributing to large-scale software projects (>100,000 lines of code) - Strong debugging, performance optimization, and test automation skills - Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and communicate effectively - Active Top Secret / Top Secret SCI / DOE Level Q clearance, or willingness and ability to obtain one **Additional requirements** - Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment (clearance may not be immediately required upon hire) - If you have an active clearance, you may work on sensitive missions and be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug/alcohol testing - Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary **Compensation & benefits** - **Pay Range:** - Level 1: **$125,000.00 – $160,000.00** - Level 2: **$145,000.00 – $195,000.00** - Base salary is determined case-by-case; total rewards may include long-term incentives (stock/long-term cash awards), potential bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan - Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k); disability and life insurance; paid parental leave; paid vacation and holidays - Those with an active clearance may receive a **10% differential**, up to an additional **$20,000 annually**, once briefed into a classified program **ITAR requirements** - Applicant must be a U.S. citizen/national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee under 8 U.S.C. §
