**Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Digital Twin Platform** **About the Role** The Digital Twin Platform team at Instacart is building next-generation systems to understand real-time inventory levels and in-store stocking dynamics across North America. You'll develop and deploy machine learning models that power critical products like search and logistics, working end-to-end from data ingestion through production deployment. **Key Responsibilities** • Design, develop, and deploy ML models for real-time inventory understanding across thousands of retail locations • Own the full ML lifecycle—problem framing, data exploration, training, evaluation, and production deployment • Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, computer vision engineers, data scientists, and product leads • Contribute to core platform infrastructure for data ingestion and novel inventory observation collection • Help define technical direction on a high-performance, startup-paced team **Required Qualifications** • 5+ years developing and deploying ML models in production • Strong Python proficiency and experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn • Experience with large-scale data pipelines and structured/unstructured data at scale • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML platform tooling familiarity • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field **Preferred Qualifications** • Computer vision, inventory forecasting, or spatial/temporal modeling experience • Real-time inference systems and low-latency ML serving knowledge • Track record driving projects independently from conception to production • Retail, supply chain, or e-commerce domain experience • Experience collaborating with computer vision teams **Compensation** (US-based) CA, NY, CT, NJ: $240,000–$253,500 | WA: $230,000–$243,000 | OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $221,000–$233,000 | Other states: $201,000–$212,000 **Work Style** Flex First remote role with flexibility to work from home, office, or preferred location while staying connected through regular in-person events.
