## AI / Legal Workflow Engineer ### Overview Design, develop, and improve AI-powered workflows for legal practice groups. Focus areas include prompt engineering, workflow development, removing recurring friction in legal work, and quality assurance to ensure AI tools meet the Firm’s needs. Partner with IT, Practice Technology, Innovation, and Security to deliver effective AI solutions. ### Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and iterate AI-powered workflows for legal practice groups; translate legal tasks/processes into AI-enabled solutions. - Develop and maintain prompts, workflow templates, evaluation methods, and quality assurance standards for consistent, high-quality outputs. - Execute the Firm’s strategy for AI-enabled workflows; contribute to roadmaps and workflow optimization priorities. - Translate practice requirements into AI workflow specifications, prompt libraries, and knowledge repositories aligned to attorney expectations and Firm standards. - Provide input on workflow priorities and optimization efforts, balancing practice needs, feasibility, quality, and long-term value. - Monitor and report KPIs, quality metrics, and attorney satisfaction; use data-driven insights to guide improvements. - Conduct R&D to identify opportunities for AI enhancement; stay current on LLMs, AI workflow design/evaluation, and legal AI applications. - Support pilot programs and proof-of-concept initiatives; help define success criteria and deployment recommendations. - Coordinate with stakeholders across the Firm for development, testing, and deployment. - Contribute to training and adoption strategies so attorneys and staff can use AI effectively. - Collaborate with AI platform vendors and internal technology teams to improve system performance and product development. - Work closely with the Manager of Innovation to align workflow initiatives with broader AI innovation objectives. - Provide updates on performance, progress, and quality metrics. - Perform other duties/special projects as assigned. ### Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required. - Advanced degree or relevant academic background in law, computer science, information systems, or related field preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in legal technology, knowledge management, legal practice, or technology/innovation roles in a professional services environment. - Demonstrated experience developing/optimizing AI-enabled workflows, prompts, or related solutions. - Strong knowledge of generative AI and prompt engineering, including RAG, context management, model capabilities/limitations, and AI evaluation techniques. - Experience building prompts, workflow templates, knowledge resources, and QA processes for AI tools. - Hands-on experience with an enterprise AI platform (preferably legal/professional services), including building/testing multi-step workflows and reusable prompts. - Ability to analyze complex professional workflows and translate requirements into structured, testable solutions. - Ability to identify failure modes, design test cases, and evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with attorney requirements and Firm standards. - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. - Ability to track performance metrics and user feedback to improve AI tools/outputs. - Ability to support training and adoption of AI tools for attorneys and staff. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively across a
