We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. **About the Role** We're looking for experienced backend and distributed systems engineers to join the Agentic Systems team. You'll drive 0 → 1 efforts from ideation through GA, own systems end to end from API design through operations, and partner closely with product, research, developer experience, and go-to-market teams. **What You'll Do** • **Scale the platform** - Design and operate durable session/event storage, sandbox orchestration, streaming, scheduling, and multi-tenant isolation • **Evolve the harness** - Work with research to revisit model assumptions, build eval infrastructure, and measure harness quality • **Help builders succeed** - Ship capabilities for outcome-driven execution, multi-agent orchestration, memory, and observability • **Design lasting APIs** - Shape primitives for agents, environments, sessions, vaults, and event streams used by thousands of developers **You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have:** • Minimum 8 years as a backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineer • Built and operated stateful, long-running, or high-throughput systems in production • Strong product sense and treat API design as a craft • Comfortable with 0 → 1 work and navigating ambiguity • Use Claude or AI tools as a core part of building software • Take full ownership from design through operations **Strong Candidates May Also Have:** • Built agent harnesses, frameworks, or LLM orchestration layers • Worked on AI/ML platforms or led AI adoption in engineering • Built evaluation/benchmarking infrastructure for LLM systems • Experience with durable execution, workflow engines, or container runtimes • Shipped public developer platforms or APIs at scale **Compensation & Details** 💰 $405,000 - $485,000 USD annually 📍 Preference: NY, SEA, SF, or Bay Area 🏢 Hybrid: At least 25% in office 🎓 Bachelor's degree or equivalent required ✅ Visa sponsorship available **Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
