**Staff Software Engineer, Marketplace Insurance** **Our Mission** Zocdoc is transforming healthcare by giving power to patients. We've built the leading healthcare marketplace making it easy to find and book care across all 50 states, 200+ specialties, and 12k+ insurance plans. **Your Impact** As a Staff Software Engineer on the Marketplace Insurance team, you'll help answer critical questions: *Which providers can I see in-network?* and *How much will it cost?* You'll tackle complex technical challenges, simplify intricate insurance domains, and provide technical leadership while mentoring engineers across the organization. **Key Responsibilities** • Own Zocdoc's insurance features and cost transparency expansion • Lead 0-1 projects spanning the full technology stack • Ship production code using C#, React, and AWS to millions of users • Mentor engineers and drive adoption of engineering best practices • Partner with product, design, and data teams on cross-functional initiatives • Work with cutting-edge GenAI tools to amplify team impact **You'll Succeed If You Have** • 7+ years building and scaling high-performance distributed backend systems • Strong product-owner mindset with focus on user needs and business impact • Solid system design skills (high availability, fault tolerance, graceful degradation) • Track record mentoring engineers and improving developer productivity • Experience with complex, user-facing products across multiple tech stack areas • Strong communication skills for technical and cross-functional audiences **Benefits** Flexible hybrid work (Soho), unlimited vacation, 100% paid health benefits, 401(k) match, wellness programs, sabbatical leave, paid parental leave, catered lunch, and more. **Compensation** NYC Base Salary: $180,000–$270,000 USD (plus potential variable pay and equity) **About Zocdoc** Founded in 2007, Zocdoc is a mission-driven, Great Place to Work Certified company backed by leading investors.
