About this role
**SpaceX — New Graduate Engineer, Software (Application Software)** SpaceX is building the technologies to enable human life on Mars. The **Application Software** team is the central nervous system of SpaceX—creating mission-critical applications used across the company to accelerate launch vehicle production and flight, and to help Starlink grow into a worldwide, fast, reliable Internet service. You’ll work with a team of enthusiastic engineers to design and produce solutions that move SpaceX toward its goals at a rapid pace. --- **Responsibilities** - Develop highly reliable, real-time software. - Participate in and lead architecture, design, and code reviews. - Develop prototypes and manage experiments to prove out key design concepts. - Collaborate with other engineers across disciplines to plan and organize product development. --- **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or other STEM discipline. - Professional development experience in **C, C++, Python, C#,** or another object-oriented language (internship experience is applicable). - Graduating in the class of **2026 or 2027**. --- **Preferred Skills and Experience** - Strong professional/project experience writing software in a production environment. - Developed, debugged, and deployed software used in real-world applications/projects. - Creative problem-solving approach, exceptional analytical skills, and strong engineering fundamentals. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements. - Experience with networking protocols (**UDP, TCP/IP**, etc.) and distributed systems. - Experience with security issues associated with distributed systems and internet services. --- **Additional Requirements** - Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed. --- **Compensation and Benefits (Pay Range)** - **Level 1:** $125,000.00 – $160,000.00 - **Level 2:** $145,000.00 – $195,000.00 Base salary is one part of a total rewards package, which may include long-term incentives (company stock or long-term cash awards), potential discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
