You’ll have the freedom to experiment with new approaches with the goal of scaling systems linearly, with opportunities for cross-training into other technologies. **What You’ll Do** - Administer and support multiple **MySQL database clusters** - Administer and support **sharded MySQL database clusters** - Manage database capacity and usage (proactive capacity planning) - **Query optimization** - Monitor and optimize database performance - Develop **backup and recovery** procedures - Essential DBA work: install, configure, upgrade, backup, partitioning, and monitoring for **MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, and ClickHouse** clusters - **ProxySQL administration** - Partner with developers across the application lifecycle (schema, tables, data types, indexes, procedures, functions) - Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and database risks - **Benchmarking** **What You Bring** - Bachelor’s degree in math/stats/econ/CS (or related) **or** relevant professional experience - **3+ years** experience as a production Database Administrator - **4+ years** with **MySQL / Percona Server** (5.1, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8.0, 8.4) and/or **CloudSQL / AWS RDS MySQL/Postgres / Aurora** - **2+ years** with **Postgres** - **2+ years** with **ClickHouse** - Experience with **ProxySQL (2.x, 3.x)** / **Orchestrator** / **Percona XtraBackup** - **3+ years** writing Linux shell scripts, Perl, Python, etc. - Experience with **High Availability MySQL/Percona** environments - Experience working with large data volumes (**100s of TB to PB**) - Strong understanding of **InnoDB** and InnoDB tuning - Experience with **SingleStore, MongoDB, Percona XtraDB Cluster** - Experience with **Puppet, Terraform** **Nice to Have** - Affiliate & Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification (PXA) **Salary Range** - **$150,000 – $170,000** per year - Plus an additional **5% variable annual bonus** contingent on Company performance - Eligible for **RSU (Restricted Stock Unit)** grant **Benefits and Perks** - Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance - Office-only catered lunch every Thursday, snack bar, and great coffee - Flexible spending accounts and **401(k)** - **Flexible Working** (Responsible PTO) - Health & Wellness: up to **12 fully covered therapy/coaching sessions/year**, plus monthly gym reimbursement - **RSUs** with a 3-year vesting schedule (pending Board approval) - Learning support: free **Coursera** subscription and **PXA courses** - Parental support: **26 weeks** fully paid (primary) and **13 weeks** fully paid (secondary) - Technology stipend + monthly internet allowance **Equal Opportunity** impact.com is an equal-opportunity workplace. **Work Style** - **#LI-Hybrid**
