This role is a high-scope technical position shaping the strategy and architecture behind our **web and backend systems**. You’ll design, build, and ship, while also driving technical direction across teams and initiatives. --- ## What you’ll do - **Data Engineering:** Build, maintain, and improve Python and Go services that process and deliver real-time sports betting data. - **System Design:** Design and evolve scalable, fault-tolerant services and data flows; make trade-offs across throughput, latency, consistency, and cost. - **Frontend Engineering:** Build and maintain user-facing features in our **React/TypeScript** application to surface real-time data. - **Database Performance:** Diagnose and optimize **PostgreSQL** query and indexing performance at scale. - **Monitoring:** Proactively monitor live feeds and message queues for accuracy, consistency, and low latency. - **API Engineering:** Debug and optimize API interactions to ensure seamless, performant integrations. - **Client Integration (≈25% of time):** Provide technical guidance to operators during integration and ensure client needs are represented internally. - **Incident Response:** Handle occasional after-hours issues with rapid resolution and root-cause prevention. - **Internal Collaboration:** Surface recurring client challenges to engineering/product to help prioritize fixes and enhancements. - **Tooling & Automation:** Contribute to internal tooling and automation that reduce manual support and improve reliability. --- ## Tech stack - **Python / Django** (API) - **Go** (backend services) - **PostgreSQL** (high-throughput, shared database) - **RabbitMQ** (real-time pipeline) - **Kubernetes** (container orchestration) - **React / TypeScript** (frontend) --- ## Qualifications - **4–7 years** of engineering experience (data pipelines, real-time systems, or API-driven platforms) - Strong **Python** skills (debugging + optimization) - **Go proficiency (required)** - Frontend experience with **React + TypeScript** (Vite/Tailwind a plus) - Experience designing **distributed, real-time systems** (scalability + fault tolerance + trade-offs) - Solid **SQL/PostgreSQL** fundamentals (query plans, indexing, performance) - Hands-on **API debugging** - Familiarity with **message queues** (RabbitMQ/Kafka) and **Docker/Kubernetes** (plus) - **Sports and sports betting knowledge required** - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams - Self-starter who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments --- ## Perks & Benefits - Comprehensive private **Healthcare Insurance** - Flexible work environment + **home office available** - **Home office allowance** - **Gym & Leisure Allowance** - Hardware/software provided - Company events, social outings, Spot Awards, Monthly Social Club - Access to courses for personal and career development - **Company-paid volunteer day**
