**Mobile Engineering Manager — Via** Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform powers modern transit networks, transforming antiquated systems into smart, data-driven, efficient digital services. ## About the Role As a **Mobile Engineering Manager** at Via, you’ll lead the development of product areas within our mobile apps that help transit agencies deliver reliable, efficient service to their communities. You’ll guide a team of engineers building something new, while partnering closely with other teams to ensure seamless integration across Via’s ecosystem. ## What You’ll Do - Lead key mobile initiatives (e.g., improving rider/driver app performance, reliability, and user experience across **iOS** and **Android**) - Own and execute a roadmap focused on **scalability** (peak demand, app responsiveness, reducing latency across core user flows) - Drive cross-functional projects with **Product, Design, and Backend** to launch features end-to-end (concept → production) - Improve engineering quality and velocity via better development practices, stronger code review standards, and evolving mobile architecture - Build and grow a high-performing team through hiring, mentoring, and supporting engineers at different levels - Identify and lead process improvements (release cycles, **CI/CD**, testing frameworks) to increase efficiency and reduce friction - Contribute to broader mobile initiatives (shared tooling, frameworks, and long-term platform strategy) ## About You - **7+ years** building mobile applications (iOS or Android), including experience with production-scale apps - Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects end-to-end - Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and modern development practices (e.g., **CI/CD, testing, MVVM**) - Comfortable collaborating across mobile, backend, and product domains - Collaborative, pragmatic leadership—balancing speed with quality and making thoughtful trade-offs - Hands-on and detail-oriented when needed, while operating effectively at a leadership level - Clear communicator who builds trust and fosters a positive, inclusive team environment ## Compensation & Benefits - Final salary determined by experience, knowledge, and skills (salary shown excludes equity/variable pay where applicable) - **Salary Range:** **$200,000 – $250,000** - Generous benefits package, including **free medical plans** and **401K matching** *Via is an equal opportunity employer.*
