While we’re remote-first, you may be asked to report in person on an ad-hoc basis for team gatherings, functional off-sites, or customer meetings. --- ## See yourself at Twilio Join the team as Twilio’s next **Senior Engineering Manager** in Twilio’s **Conversational Agents Organization**. ## About the job The Conversational Agents Organization builds the bridge between **AI agents** and the **Twilio platform**. You’ll lead the **Agent Implementations** team responsible for building and operating best-in-class agents that power Twilio’s internal business workflows—helping spearhead Twilio’s internal AI transformation. ## Responsibilities In this role, you’ll: - **Lead** engineering strategy and execution for enabling customer AI agents to securely and reliably consume Twilio platform capabilities. - **Build and scale** systems that power AI agents for Twilio’s internal business operations to improve efficiency and automation. - **Collaborate** across product, platform, security, and go-to-market teams to identify high-impact AI agent use cases and deliver production-ready solutions. - **Cultivate** a high-performing engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and developing managers and engineers. - **Drive** operational excellence with clear metrics, roadmap planning, and ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement. - **Acquire** new technical skills in a fast-paced, high-delivery environment—expect a steep learning curve. ## Qualifications **Required:** - 5+ years hands-on experience as an engineer writing production-grade code in a modern programming language (language agnostic) - 3+ years supervising teams of engineers across different disciplines - Experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and guiding technical design decisions - Proven track record shipping products to production; testing ideas early with customers and iterating rapidly - Strong customer focus and tight feedback loops - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Passion for emerging technologies and staying up to date **Desired:** - Experience taking a product from idea to product-market fit (zero to one) - Experience leading development of products/features leveraging LLMs - Builder at heart—hands-on and motivated by seeing work come to life ## Location Remote, but **not eligible** to be hired in **San Francisco, CA; Oakland, CA; San Jose, CA; or surrounding areas**. ## What We Offer Competitive pay, generous time off, parental and wellness leave, healthcare, retirement savings program, and more (varies by location). **Compensation (estimated pay ranges)** - Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington D.C.: **$207,200.00 – 259,000.00** - Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside the San Francisco Bay area): **$219,360.00 – 274,200.00** - Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: **$243,680.00 – 304,600.00** This role may be eligible for Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
