Senior Full Stack Engineer, Enterprise, Feature Management
LaunchDarkly · Remote - US
About this role
**Senior Full Stack Engineer, Enterprise, Feature Management** **About the Job** The Enterprise team builds LaunchDarkly for the customers who push it hardest—global banks, national health systems, and Fortune 100 manufacturers running thousands of engineers and tens of thousands of flags, inside audit and change control processes most software never meets. At this scale, designs that work elsewhere break down. Your work is to find where a current design stops holding and build what replaces it—owning the end-to-end solution in **Go** (backend) and **TypeScript + React** (frontend). **Key areas you’ll work on** - **Governance and access control:** Roles, permissions, approvals, and audit trails that satisfy regulators. - **Scale and performance:** Find limits before customers do, then change the design—not just tune. - **Programmatic control:** Public API, Terraform provider, and configuration surfaces so platform teams can run LaunchDarkly as infrastructure. - **Resilience under real constraints:** Data residency, regional isolation, and sane behavior when dependencies degrade. Enterprise work is closely tied to customers: you’ll often know who’s waiting on your work and what it unblocks, and you’ll speak with customers directly. You’ll also deliver larger forward-looking capabilities. **Responsibilities** - Own features end to end: problem framing with PM/designer, technical design, implementation (backend + frontend), rollout, and operational life after launch. - Design for enterprise constraints from the start (permissions/access control, approvals/audit requirements, data residency/regional isolation, degraded-region/dependency behavior). - Identify and fix scalability/performance limits: measure bottlenecks and lead design changes. - Make LaunchDarkly manageable at fleet scale by extending the public API, Terraform provider, and configuration surfaces. - Work directly with customers: join escalations/discovery calls, translate specific issues into solutions that serve the segment. - Improve operability: observability, runbooks, on-call participation, and follow-through after incidents. - Drive alignment across teams: surface misalignment early and bring the right people together. - Mentor and review: substantive review of specs/PRs (including neighboring teams) and help newer engineers ramp faster. **Qualifications** - **6+ years** of professional software engineering experience; track record of shipping features from design through production. - Strong full-stack ability: comfortable owning frontend work; backend is **Go**, frontend is **TypeScript + React**. - Experience building for enterprise customers (multi-tenancy, roles/permissions, SSO/identity, audit logging, approval workflows, compliance requirements). - Demonstrated work on scale/performance (find bottlenecks, measure, redesign rather than tune). - API design judgment (build interfaces others depend on; understand consequences of design choices). - Comfort talking with customers and translating needs into more general solutions. - Collaboration across time zones (EMEA teammates/stakeholders; occasional flexibility). - Clear writing (design docs and written decisions to stay aligned across regions). **Pay (Target Ranges for Level 4)** - **Zone 1:** San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metro, Boston, Seattle — **$191,800–$263,670** - **Zone 2:** Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago — **$172,600–$237,270** - **Zone 3:**
