## Principal Engineer, Full Stack Development ### Overview ICE Mortgage Technology is digitizing and automating the real estate and housing finance lifecycle so critical data flows seamlessly across processes—creating a better experience for homeowners, lenders, and servicers. The Principal Engineer, Full Stack Development will design, develop, and architect solutions that enhance mortgage servicing capabilities. ### Responsibilities - Provide technical leadership to software engineering staff across development, testing, and implementation - Receive general direction from management - Design and develop APIs to enable front-end functionality and/or be consumed by partner systems - Deliver full-stack solutions including application development, migrations, and enhancements to existing applications - Build front-end applications using **React, Angular, Node.js**, etc., in close collaboration with the UX team - Create code libraries and APIs using **Python** and **Java (Spring Boot)** - Develop AI solutions using **AWS Bedrock** and related services - Apply secure development practices (secure coding, testing, access control, and secure deployment) - Design and create data models for applications and databases - Participate in software design meetings and translate user needs into technical requirements - Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements - Develop and/or review test protocols with emphasis on **automated Unit Tests, Component Tests, and Scenario Tests** - Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance - Mentor or guide less experienced software development staff (as needed) - Stay current with industry standards in web development - Perform additional related duties as assigned ### Knowledge & Experience - Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field **or** equivalent education/experience - **7+ years** of software development experience - Experience with development technologies including **Python**, **.NET**, and/or **Java/Spring**, plus **JavaScript** and **Python** - Experience with **OAuth2, JWT, JWS, JWE, JWKS/certificates**, signing, and encryption - Experience with **OpenAPI Specification 3.0 (OAS/Swagger)** - Experience with **OpenShift** and developing **microservices** - Experience with API documentation tools/formats such as **Swagger** and **Postman** - Experience with modern front-end technologies (**React** or **Angular**) is a plus - Experience with **RESTful** and **SOAP** web services development - Experience with cloud applications (**AWS** or **Azure**) is a plus - Experience with **CI/CD** pipelines - Experience with source code management tools such as **Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, or Git** - Experience with relational databases (**MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server**) - Proficiency with **Test-Driven Development** and automated testing (Unit/Component/Scenario tests) is a plus - Familiarity with **SDLC** using **Agile** principles and AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) - Experience with software security platforms (e.g., **Snyk**) and remediating vulnerabilities - Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communication - Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences (including executives, regulators, clients, etc.) - People management experience is
