**AI Software Engineer II** at Relativity Space **About the Team:** The AI, Data and Platform Engineering team leads Relativity's initiative to make AI a core part of how we design, build, and test rocket hardware. We build applications, agents, data foundations, and platforms that put AI in the hands of engineers and operators across the company. A small, high-ownership team that ships quickly, works directly with users, and treats reliability and evaluation as first-class priorities. **About the Role:** Build AI systems used by engineers and operators across the company, working across the full software development lifecycle: concept, design, implementation, and iteration. Create AI-powered applications and agents on top of foundation models and make them reliable in production. Ship quality software with continuous integration and deployment. **Key Technologies:** Python, React, TypeScript, Go • Claude and other foundation models • Agent frameworks, RAG, LLM evaluation • Spark, Iceberg, DuckDB, Redshift, DBT, Postgres, Mongo • AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm **Requirements:** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field • 3-5 years building, shipping, and iterating on applications and services • Practical experience building AI features with LLMs (agents, RAG, tool use, evaluation) shipped to real users • Hands-on experience building with large language models • Experience designing in collaboration with non-software stakeholders • Proficiency in preferred languages and willingness to learn new ones **Nice to Haves:** • AI/service architecture design and scaling experience • Building evaluation and observability systems for production AI • Data engineering, applied ML, or knowledge base/ontology experience • Turning research into working prototypes • Large codebase development across platforms • Manufacturing, hardware, robotics, or physical-world domain exposure **Compensation:** $130,000 – $196,000 USD Competitive salary and equity, generous PTO, parental leave, annual learning stipend, and more.
