**Senior Software Engineer – Platform & Data Infrastructure** **Role Overview** ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, scale, and maintain the core cloud-native platform and data infrastructure powering our digital identity platform. You will own multi-region Kubernetes fleets, automated GitOps pipelines, policy-as-code governance, and enterprise data workflow orchestrations. Working with Platform, Security, SRE, and Product Engineering teams, you'll turn complex infrastructure into self-service developer capabilities while enforcing security guardrails and ensuring high availability. **Location:** Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA (Full-time, in-office) **Key Responsibilities** • Operate and manage production Kubernetes clusters (GKE/EKS) across multiple regions • Maintain automated GitOps reconciliation pipelines using FluxCD and Helm • Architect modular Terraform codebases and enforce policy-as-code governance (Sentinel/OPA) • Build and optimize data pipelines using Apache Airflow, Kafka, and BigQuery • Implement zero-trust security with HashiCorp Vault and secrets management • Lead zero-downtime infrastructure migrations and disaster recovery initiatives • Participate in on-call rotations and design observability dashboards (Splunk, GCP Cloud Logging) • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code and design reviews **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field • 8+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or cloud data infrastructure • Strong programming skills (Python, Bash, SQL, Java) • Deep experience operating enterprise-scale Kubernetes fleets • Extensive Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience • Experience with Apache Airflow, Kafka, or BigQuery **Preferred Qualifications** • CKA or CKAD certification • Terraform Enterprise (TFE) and policy-as-code experience (Sentinel/OPA) • GitOps workflows with FluxCD or ArgoCD • HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes External Secrets Operator expertise • Track record of large-scale cloud migrations with zero customer impact **Compensation** Mountain View, CA: $190,978 – $214,052 USD (base salary; final offers vary based on qualifications and location) **Benefits** Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401(k) with match, parental leave, unlimited PTO (8 company holidays), disability insurance, referral bonus, EAP, pet insurance, and learning & development benefits.
