**Waymo — Software Engineer, Marketplace Logistic** Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world’s most trusted driver. The Marketplace team builds the core decision systems that keep Waymo running smoothly—matching riders to vehicles, optimizing routing, balancing supply and demand, forecasting rider demand, and powering dynamic pricing. **You will:** - Implement and scale the core economic engine for Waymo’s ride-hailing commercial services (trip requests, vehicle-to-rider matching, ride pricing, and vehicle positioning for future demand). - Develop infrastructure for automatically training and deploying sophisticated optimization and prediction ML models for real-time decisions (pricing, matching, positioning). - Create experimentation, monitoring, and analysis infrastructure for deployed models. - Partner with product data scientists to develop and productionize pricing and matching models. **You have:** - BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience) - 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages - Experience building backend distributed systems **We prefer:** - Experience in C++ - MS in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience) - Experience developing low-latency, large-scale, user-facing distributed systems - Experience building ML/optimization infrastructure and pipelines - Prior experience building and deploying ML/optimization models into production - Experience at another ride-hailing or marketplace company **Compensation (US):** $175,000 — $215,000 USD (base salary range). Waymo employees may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, equity incentives, and company benefits (subject to eligibility).
