**Staff Frontend Engineer, Feature Management** **About the Role:** LaunchDarkly is hiring a Staff Frontend Engineer to own the quality and consistency of core flag surfaces: the flag list, flag targeting, segments, and contexts. You'll bring coherence to surfaces that grew across multiple teams, setting technical direction through depth rather than authority. **Key Responsibilities:** • Own consistency and quality of core flag surfaces across teams • Set priorities from customer evidence and usage signals • Own LaunchPad design system as a product lever, driving adoption and migration • Track upstream library and platform capability, translating into product improvements • Build shared interaction primitives (tables, filtering, sorting, bulk operations) • Prototype and land patterns for hybrid human-agent workflows • Defend frontend performance for high-traffic surfaces at enterprise scale **Required Qualifications:** • 10+ years software engineering with deep frontend expertise and cross-team ownership • Strong TypeScript and React; ability to work across API boundaries • Experience owning an adopted design system (migration, enforcement, adoption metrics) • Product and UX judgment alongside engineering depth • Track record of cross-team influence without direct authority • Experience with data-dense enterprise product UI at scale • Production experience with LLM tool use, MCP, or agent frameworks • Excellent written communication **Compensation:** Zone 1 (SF/Bay, NYC, Boston, Seattle): $214,800 - $295,350 Zone 2 (LA, Austin, Portland, Chicago, etc.): $193,400 - $265,870 Zone 3 (Other US): $182,600 - $251,020 Includes RSUs, health/vision/dental, and mental health benefits.
