Their AI-driven platform simplifies reimbursement workflows—especially IDR (Independent Dispute Resolution)—to reduce administrative burden and help providers recover reimbursement they’re entitled to. ## About the Role Pivotal Health is hiring a **Senior Software Engineer** to join the **Case Execution** team. This team owns critical parts of the case execution workflow, including: - Eligibility - Batching - Submissions - Ops workflows - Claim orchestration This role is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving complex, workflow-driven backend problems and working through data-heavy decision logic—particularly in **eligibility and batching**. ## What You’ll Do - **Build and improve core case execution systems**: Own backend development across eligibility, batching, submissions, ops workflows, and claim orchestration. - **Tackle complex, data-driven backend problems**: Work through decision logic and data-heavy workflows, understanding how systems interact across the broader platform. - **Contribute to workflow orchestration**: Build and improve systems that coordinate how cases are staged, routed, and executed end to end, with a focus on correctness and reliability. - **Collaborate cross-functionally**: Partner with the Integrations team, Case Strategy team, and other engineering/product stakeholders. - **Contribute to front-end and admin workflows where needed**: Primarily backend-focused, with opportunities to support internal-facing UI and ops tooling. ## Who You Are - **5+ years** of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus - Strong engineering fundamentals; hands-on experience building **data-heavy, workflow-oriented systems** - Experience with **complex, data-driven decision logic** or orchestration problems (correctness and sequencing matter) - Comfortable in a collaborative, fast-moving startup environment with evolving requirements - **Python experience** (able to work effectively in a Python-based backend environment) - Self-directed and proactive; identifies problems and drives them to resolution - Strong communicator across engineering, product, and adjacent teams ## Extra Credit (If You Have Experience With) - Healthcare-specific data or HealthTech systems - Data-heavy architectures or adjacent problems (without being a pure data engineer) - Tools like **Snowflake, dbt, or Databricks** - Some front-end experience to support admin workflow contributions ## Why You’ll Love Working Here - Collaborative, low-ego team with a mission to make healthcare reimbursement fairer for providers - Hiring hubs include **Los Angeles** and **New York**, with openness to exceptional talent outside those regions - Remote/hybrid flexibility varies by role and team ## Benefits - Competitive compensation, including equity - Full health, dental, and vision coverage - Retirement savings plan through **401(k)** - Flexible time off - Opportunities for company-wide connection and events ## Employment Information - **Work Authorization**: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. - **Equal Employment Opportunity**: Pivotal Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. - **Reasonable Accommodations**: Available for qualified individuals with disabilities. - **Background Checks**: Employment contingent u
