Sr. AI Transformation Engineer
Roku · San Jose, California
About this role
**Sr. AI Transformation Engineer — Roku (AI Enablement Team)** Roku is seeking a **Senior AI Transformation Engineer** to drive end-to-end delivery of **agentic AI systems** that measurably transform how work gets done across the company. You’ll embed with business and technical teams (including Legal, FP&A, Accounting, Brand, Customer Support, and Engineering) to identify high-value automation opportunities and deliver **production-grade** solutions. --- ### How will I use AI at Roku? At Roku, you’ll work with AI agents and smart tools to power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows—while applying human judgment and accountability. This is a **hands-on builder** role focused on **adoption and measurable business impact**, not demos. You’ll value your AI skills if you’ve built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain (e.g., coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks) and can ship real work with these tools. --- ### Responsibilities - Drive AI deployments from **discovery and scoping** through **system design, build, and production rollout**, owning outcomes end to end - Embed with teams to diagnose real problems and identify the highest-value opportunities for agentic automation - Create clear scopes of work and pragmatic project plans for prototypes and production deployments, making trade-offs on scope, priority, and quality - Design, build, test, and deploy **production-grade agentic AI applications and integrations** in short cycles - Reimagine entire functions as **AI-native, agent-powered systems** (beyond single-task automation) - Connect solutions to Roku data platforms, internal systems, and enterprise APIs across complex data sources and metric layers - Lead onboarding, enablement, and change management; iterate based on feedback until solutions are trusted and actively used - Define and track success via production adoption, workflow impact, and measurable business value - Collaborate with AI Ambassadors, mentor teammates, and flex across functions as priorities evolve - Codify reusable patterns and field learnings into Roku’s broader AI platform strategy --- ### We’re excited if you have - **5+ years** of software engineering / full-stack engineering / technical deployment experience with a track record of shipping production systems - Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) - Strong software engineering fundamentals; ability to write and ship production-grade code (e.g., **Python** and/or **JavaScript/TypeScript**) - Hands-on experience building/deploying systems powered by **LLMs, generative models, or agentic frameworks** - Ability to thrive in ambiguity and decompose open-ended problems into workstreams with sound trade-offs - Experience working with non-technical stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions - Track record of building solutions that achieve **adoption** and **measurable impact** - Product sense and bias toward outcomes over output - High autonomy and ownership in fast-moving environments - Experience with modern AI engineering patterns (e.g., **RAG, prompt engineering, agent orchestration, tool-use, human-in-the-loop controls, model evaluation, MLOps/LLMOps**) - Familiarity with cloud platforms (**AWS, Azure, or GCP**), containerization (**Docker/Kubernetes**), and CI/CD - Experience with modern data architectures and relational databases --- ### Hybrid working (Roku approach)
