**Staff+ Software Engineer, Safeguards Data** **About the Role** Anthropics is seeking software engineers to build safety and oversight mechanisms for AI systems. You'll work on the data foundations powering detection, evaluation, and review systems—including pipelines, stores, and governance controls deployed across AWS, GCP, and Azure. **Key Responsibilities** • Build and operate the data platform powering Safeguards, including ingestion pipelines, warehouses, schemas, and interfaces • Maintain high operational standards for safety and customer needs while reducing manual effort • Own data governance, integrity, retention, access controls, and privacy-preserving handling of sensitive data • Design systems that run portably across cloud providers and customer-managed environments • Partner with analysts, investigators, and researchers to build internal tooling **Minimum Qualifications** • Proficiency in Python and SQL • Production experience building and operating data pipelines or data stores • Ability to work across the data stack (ingestion, storage, consumption) • Strong written and verbal communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** • Extensive software engineering experience on data-intensive systems • Experience with integrity, spam, fraud, or abuse detection • Trust and safety detection for AI/ML systems • Large-scale distributed data infrastructure • Multi-cloud or provider-agnostic infrastructure experience • Data governance in regulated/high-sensitivity domains • Custom internal tooling for operational teams **Compensation & Details** 💰 $320,000–$485,000 USD annually 📍 Hybrid (25% office minimum) 🎓 Bachelor's degree or equivalent required ✅ Visa sponsorship available **Learn More** Visit anthropic.com/careers for confirmed openings.
