**Senior Software Engineer, Ads Creative Effectiveness** **About the Team** The Ads Creative Effectiveness team improves the impact of ad creative at Reddit through generative and predictive products. You’ll help adapt and fine-tune LLMs/VLMs to generate images, videos, text, and more—build performance predictors to rank ad components, and create insight/recommendation engines that distill what works at Reddit to boost advertiser performance. **About the Role** Reddit’s Ads Creative Effectiveness team builds GenAI and predictive products that help advertisers ship high-impact campaigns. As a **Sr. Software Engineer**, you’ll contribute to best-in-class image, video, and copy generators; performance-guided generation to maximize clicks and conversions; and brand-safe, product-preserving image/video editing pipelines at scale. **Responsibilities** - **Lead Creative Engineering Architecture:** Design and implement high-performance backends for ad creative generation; ensure brand asset preservation and style consistency; keep the GenAI stack modular and extensible. - **Advanced Editing & Asset Workflows:** Build end-to-end image and video editing engines; design APIs and logic for complex asset manipulation while enforcing brand guidelines. - **Scale Performance Feedback Systems:** Bridge ad performance (CTR, CVR) with the creative engine; ingest high-volume performance data and optimize the generation flywheel. - **Optimize Model Orchestration & Efficiency:** Tackle high-concurrency inference, latency optimization, and cost-efficient scaling. - **Robust Safety & Compliance Systems:** Build and maintain middleware for content filtering and compliance to prevent non-compliant or infringing content. - **Cross-Functional Technical Leadership:** Partner with Product, UX, and Ads ML leadership to define the technical roadmap; translate business goals into technical designs; integrate with Ad Manager UI and delivery stacks. - **Engineering Excellence:** Raise code quality, reliability, and documentation; lead design reviews; mentor engineers; implement guardrails for advertiser and user experiences. **Required Qualifications** - **Expert Software Engineering & System Design:** Experience architecting and scaling distributed backend systems (e.g., Python, Go); strong microservices and API design. - **Applied AI/ML Systems Engineering:** Experience bridging ML models and production software; model serving; resilient data pipelines for LLMs/VLMs; real-time generative workflow infrastructure. - **Strategic Product Engineering:** Understand how technical decisions impact the business; partner with Product to define and scale solutions. - **Operational Excellence & Ownership:** Startup mindset with senior-level discipline; reliability, observability, and maintainability in ambiguous environments. - **Technical Leadership & Influence:** Strong communication; align Product, Design, and ML teams; explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders. - **Mentorship & High Standards:** Lead thorough design/code reviews; mentor junior/mid-level engineers; foster technical excellence. - **Domain Expertise in Creative Tooling:** Experience building asset-heavy systems (e.g., automated image/video processing pipelines or high-scale content creation workflows). **Benefits** - Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs - 401k with employer match - Global benefit programs (workspace, professional development, caregiving support)
