**Product Security Engineer III** **Location:** Remote ## About the role Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design, and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. The Product Security team combines software development with deep application security expertise to help build patient-focused solutions efficiently and safely. As a Product Security Engineer, you’ll work with an inquisitive, diverse, and experienced team on a platform that’s rapidly scaling—helping solve problems that matter for tens of millions of patients annually. ## What you’ll do - Create and extend services and tools that help product and platform engineers build, deploy, and maintain Cedar products safely and efficiently. - Serve as a Security Partner across multiple engineering teams across the SDLC—evangelizing security, helping threat model features, baking security into designs, and reviewing code and implementations. - Contribute to security automation projects such as static analysis, vulnerability management, and asset inventory. ## About you - You’re an application security engineer who prioritizes addressing security challenges with technology, not process. - You love building services and tools that help product and platform engineers build, deploy, and maintain products that help hundreds of millions of people. - You have experience with security code review, threat modeling, or security architecture reviews. - You’re proficient in **Python, Go, or Kotlin**. ## Bonus points - Familiarity with **HIPAA** and **PCI**, and the unique considerations around securing health and payments data. - Experience creating developer-focused security tooling or libraries. - Participation in security capture-the-flag (CTF) events. ## Tech stack (nice to have) Deep familiarity with modern, industry-standard technologies such as **Python, Go, and Kotlin**. ## Compensation & benefits (high level) - **Salary/Hourly Rate Range:** **$157,250–$185,000** - Bonus and equity eligible - Competitive benefits and wellness package - *Subject to location, experience, and education* **Additional benefits include:** - Flexibility to work from home or in the office (depending on what works best) - Unlimited PTO (for exempt employees), encouraged to take at least 20 vacation days/year - 16 weeks paid parental leave with health benefits - Diversity initiatives and employee resource groups (be@cedar, Pridecones, Cedar Women+) - 401(k) plan with 3% employer non-election contribution (and Cedar matches 100% of your 401(k) contributions up to 3% of annual compensation) - Mentorship/coaching and a stipend for learning & development
