**Senior Data Center Provisioning Engineer (Remote, US)** Fastly helps people stay better connected with the things they love. The **Data Center Provisioning** team configures and deploys the servers, network devices, and supporting infrastructure that provides **462Tbps+** of global capacity across **100+ POPs** worldwide. --- ## What you’ll do - Provision **POPs** (network devices, servers, and equipment) following documented standards and processes using tools such as **GitHub, Ansible, Chef**, and Fastly internal tooling - Troubleshoot and resolve issues during **provisioning** and **service turnup** - Collaborate with internal operations/infrastructure teams and external partners to support **error-free rapid expansion** - Contribute to the development and improvement of **standards and processes** for new infrastructure provisioning - Partner with other Fastly teams to develop and iterate **tools and automation** that improve network provisioning - Support **post-deployment validation**, monitoring integration, and handoff to **Network Operations** for steady-state management ## What we’re looking for - **5+ years** experience in network device/server provisioning, system administration, and/or site reliability engineering - Strong understanding of the internet and **TCP/IP** (client/server dataflow) - Strong **IP routing** knowledge, with a focus on **BGP** and deep TCP/IP understanding - Understanding of how **CDNs** work and their role in the global internet - Comfort in **Linux**, with experience using software/automation workflow tools such as **Git, Travis, Chef, Ansible** (or comparable) - Ability to troubleshoot **server, scripting, and network** issues - Scripting ability in **Bash, Python**, or similar ## Nice to have - Experience working at a **CDN**, hyperscale cloud provider, or telecom infrastructure provider - Hands-on coding experience (e.g., **Python, Rust**) for internal tooling - Experience provisioning/maintaining infrastructure for a large-scale, high-availability global network --- ## Work hours & location - Available during **core business hours** - **Hybrid and Remote** (US) - Preferred locations: **Denver, CO | San Francisco, CA | New York, NY** - Hybrid preferred near a local office; remote candidates may be considered within the US - **Travel** may be required as needed for the role --- ## Salary & benefits - Estimated salary range: **$122,280 – $172,632** - Eligible for **equity** and **discretionary bonus** programs - Benefits include medical/dental/vision, family planning, mental health support & EAP, life/disability/accident insurance, flexible vacation, paid sick leave, **401(k)** (with match), and an Employee Stock Purchase Program - For 2026: **12 paid local holidays** and **12 paid company wellness days** --- **Apply:** A fully completed application and resume/CV are required.
