**Software Development Engineer - API Services** **About the Role** The API Services team owns critical services ensuring performance and reliability of Fastly's Control Plane. You'll implement features and improvements to high-throughput, globally distributed systems while working with senior engineers and internal teams. **What You'll Do** • Implement projects requiring interaction with neighboring systems • Contribute to team discussions and code reviews • Work with infrastructure tools: Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Chef • Automate manual tasks into reliable systems • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams • Help onboard new team members • Lead problem-solving with guidance from senior teammates • Participate in on-call rotation **What We're Looking For** • 1-3 years of related development experience • Working knowledge of GoLang • Exposure to cloud providers (AWS, GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Collaborative, empathetic team player • Eager to learn and grow **Nice to Have** Experience with Envoy, API Gateways, Varnish, or VCL **Work Details** 📍 **Locations:** San Francisco, CA or Denver, CO (Hybrid/Remote) 💼 **Hours:** Core business hours (Mountain/Pacific Time) + occasional on-call 💰 **Salary:** $155,370 - $186,444 **Benefits** Medical, dental, vision • Family planning • Mental health support • 401(k) with match • ESPP • Flexible vacation • 12 paid holidays • 12 wellness days • Life/disability insurance **Apply at:** www.fastly.com/careers
