About this role
**OT Systems Engineer, Mission Systems** SpaceX is seeking a highly skilled OT (Operational Technology) Systems Engineer to implement and support backend infrastructure for next-generation controls and industrial software platforms critical to launch, manufacturing, and commodities generation environments. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** • Design, deploy, and augment next-generation OT environments across multiple sites • Install, configure, maintain, and support industry-standard controls software platforms and HMIs • Integrate IT technologies to improve security, management, and scalability • Deploy and maintain development, test, and staging environments • Provide direct support during launch, test, and production campaigns • Perform systems/software upgrades and maintenance (including evenings/weekends) • Proactively monitor services and respond to incidents • Leverage automation tools and contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives • Work with controls engineers on simulation and emulation environments • Write and maintain standards, architectures, and documentation • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners • Ensure compliance with industry and cybersecurity standards (Purdue Model, IEC 62443) **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** • Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or STEM + 3+ years OT experience; OR 5+ years OT experience • Hands-on experience with multiple industry-standard controls software platforms • Significant experience designing and supporting OT environments in high-reliability settings **PREFERRED SKILLS:** • Aerospace, defense, energy, or high-reliability industry experience • Hyperconverged and edge compute architecture design • Industrial protocols and OT cybersecurity knowledge • Scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python) and automation frameworks • Infrastructure as code and DevOps experience • Active Directory and multi-platform authentication • Windows/Linux administration and network experience • Strong communication skills **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:** • DoD background check clearance for launch site access • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and work extended hours • Ability to travel up to 20% worldwide • Ability to lift 30 lbs, work at heights, and drive **ITAR REQUIREMENTS:** Applicant must be U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from U.S. Department of State.
