## Beacon Biosignals — Senior Software Engineer (Datastore) Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain—supporting clinical development and clinical care with at-home EEG and cardiopulmonary diagnostics. The **Datastore** team builds the core data infrastructure for Beacon’s platform: the foundational data model, centralized repository, and API for brain data collected from clinical studies. ### What you’ll do - Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including: - **PostgreSQL** data models - **Kafka-driven** event pipelines - **GraphQL** APIs for scientific and clinical data use (not frontend/end-user product surfaces) - Lead design and integration of new services/components for **data and event processing** - Own pipelines that deliver **dataset snapshots into the warehouse** - Collaborate with platform and application teams to implement APIs that enable new workflows across Beacon’s expanding portfolio of clinical studies and digital health products - Write and optimize **SQL** by hand, with strong attention to schema design, indexes, and query behavior ### Remote / Location - **Fully remote anywhere in the US** - In-person office hubs available in **Boston, New York, and Paris** ### What success looks like - Partner with product managers, scientific/clinical stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable data platform integrations and services - Implement features with high standards for **data integrity**, **design soundness**, and **maintainability** across the system lifecycle
