We're digitally transforming industries representing 40%+ of global GDP—agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing. **About the Role** Join our Marketing Data and Analytics (MDA) Engineering team. We transform ambiguous business problems into data products, AI agents, and automation while architecting the data infrastructure powering Samsara's marketing. You'll think on your feet, move fast, and own problems end to end. *Note: Open to US candidates except San Francisco Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington D.C. Metro Area.* **Key Responsibilities** • Design, build, and operate production AI systems (agent orchestration, tool/API integrations, retrieval pipelines, evaluation harnesses) • Architect and maintain marketing databases, datasets, pipelines, and Customer Data Platform (CDP) • Partner with BI team to expand conversational analytics • Identify and automate manual workflows with AI • Stand up new data pipelines end-to-end • Own reliability and data quality • Autonomously partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into technical solutions • Ship high-quality Python and SQL, leveraging agentic coding tools • Mentor engineers and define best practices **Minimum Requirements** • 5+ years in data engineering or AI engineering roles • Expert Python and SQL with strong data modeling experience • Production LLM/agent systems shipped • Regular use of agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) • Deep experience with data warehouses (Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, BigQuery) • Independent requirements gathering and stakeholder communication • Self-starter with strong project management skills **Ideal Qualifications** • Software engineering background beyond data/AI • Experience supporting business functions (marketing, sales, finance, ops) • Databricks expertise • Go-to-market systems knowledge (Salesforce, marketing automation, web analytics, CDPs) • LLM production evaluation and monitoring experience **Compensation** Annual Base Salary: $118,107.50 – $178,650 USD Plus: RSU grants, performance-based bonus, and comprehensive benefits
