**Enterprise Application AI Engineer** **About the Role:** Lead the integration of AI and automation across Gusto's enterprise applications ecosystem. Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, People Tech, and Operations to design Model Context Protocols (MCPs) and AI agents that transform enterprise workflows. Help shift ERP and Finance systems toward predictive, context-aware, and self-improving platforms while ensuring security and compliance. **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:** • Translate business needs into AI workflows by identifying automation opportunities and designing agentic workflows • Develop and maintain Model Context Protocols (MCPs) connecting enterprise systems (NetSuite, Zuora, Jira) to AI agents • Create intelligent agents that execute or augment core enterprise processes using large language models • Govern the full lifecycle of MCPs and agents, ensuring data governance, privacy, security, and SOX compliance • Measure and optimize impact by tracking KPIs such as automation adoption, efficiency gains, and agent accuracy • Enable the organization by building reusable AI frameworks and championing AI-first practices **What We're Looking For:** • 8+ years in Business Systems Analysis, Enterprise Applications, or Automation roles • Experience building integrations across systems like Jira, NetSuite with strong API and RESTful service knowledge • Hands-on knowledge of AI agent frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, MCP) • Familiarity with leading LLM platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and prompt engineering experience • Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for automation and scalable AI workflows • Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills • Passion for building secure, compliant, and explainable AI systems **Compensation & Location:** Denver & most remote: $175,000–$190,000/yr | San Francisco, Seattle, New York: $205,000–$225,000/yr Hybrid: 2–3 days/week in office (Denver, San Francisco, NYC, or Scottsdale) **About Gusto:** Gusto is on a mission to grow the small business economy by handling payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR.
