**TLM (Tech Lead Manager) - Recommendation Systems (Homepage)** **About the Role** Lead the Home Infrastructure team that builds mission-critical backend and data systems powering Roblox's Homepage and Experience Details Page. These high-traffic surfaces reach the vast majority of daily active users and drive discovery, engagement, retention, and platform growth. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead and grow a high-performing team of Backend and Data Engineers • Define and execute technical roadmap for large-scale content discovery, personalization, ranking, and backend systems • Drive high-impact initiatives including Personalization-as-a-Platform and real-time user signal infrastructure • Partner with ML, Data Science, Product, Design, Frontend, and other teams • Build engineering culture focused on technical excellence, reliability, and talent development **Required Experience** • 3+ years as Engineering Manager or Tech Lead Manager (backend, data, ranking, recommendation, or personalization teams) • Strong technical depth in distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, high-throughput platforms, or ML-powered serving systems • Track record leading large-scale, consumer-facing production systems • Experience delivering complex, cross-functional technical initiatives with measurable impact • Proven ability growing engineers and building high-performing teams **What We're Looking For** • Technical and strategic thinker who can guide architecture and execution • Impact-oriented with focus on user experience and platform growth • Data-driven decision maker comfortable with metrics and experimentation • Collaborative partner across product and engineering teams • Talent multiplier invested in coaching and raising engineering standards **Compensation & Location** 📍 San Mateo, CA (Onsite Tue-Thu) 💰 $295,250 - $345,040 USD annually Full-time employees eligible for equity and comprehensive benefits.
