Brex’s AI-native automation and world-class service eliminate manual expense and accounting tasks so customers can focus on what matters most. **Legal at Brex** The Legal team helps the company grow responsibly—advocating for Brex and the thousands of growing businesses we serve. We provide strategic advice and guidance to all Brex teams, protect Brex, advise on risk, and represent the company externally by negotiating with partners and interacting with regulators. **What you’ll do** - Help build, globally scale, and continuously improve Brex’s spend management software products (budgets, spend policies, approvals, and audit & controls). - Translate complex regulatory, card network, and bank partner requirements into practical product decisions. - Advise on regulatory and commercial issues across software and fintech products, including: - data privacy - contracting - intellectual property - AI and automation - consumer- and commercial-protection requirements - Provide strategic guidance on risk and ambiguity as new features are designed and shipped. - Partner closely with engineering, product, and design from ideation through launch. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (privacy, security, compliance, marketing, sales, and partnerships) to find creative solutions. - Break projects down into first principles and understand when to solve problems in-house. **Where you’ll work** This role is based in our **New York City** office. We’re a **hybrid** environment—combining the energy and connections of being in the office with the flexibility of working from home.
