**Senior Backend Engineer II - eCommerce** **About the Role** Join Prenuvo's eCommerce team to build scalable backend services powering our online booking platform. You'll design and maintain APIs supporting checkout, payments, scheduling, customer accounts, and third-party integrations across multiple countries. **What You'll Do** • Build and maintain scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL • Design and maintain APIs for checkout, payments, scheduling, customer accounts, and order management • Integrate with third-party platforms (Stripe, CommerceTools, Salesforce, Voucherify) • Design resilient distributed systems with robust error handling and observability using Datadog • Optimize application performance and database queries for high-volume transactional workloads • Write comprehensive automated tests and mentor other engineers • Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to deliver customer-facing features **What You'll Bring** • 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with Python • Strong experience building REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL including schema design and query optimization • Experience building distributed systems and integrating external APIs • Hands-on experience with AWS and modern CI/CD practices • Strong testing practices with pytest and automated test suites • Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog • Startup mindset with ability to balance speed and quality • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills **Nice to Have** • Experience with CommerceTools, Stripe, or similar payment systems • SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and asynchronous Python development • Terraform, Docker, and GitHub Actions • Scheduling platforms, subscription systems, or healthcare applications • Experience in regulated industries **Compensation & Benefits** • Base salary: $175,000 - $190,000 (depending on experience and location) • Free whole-body Prenuvo scans for team members • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage • 401(k) retirement plan • Commuter Benefits Plan • Flexible vacation policy • Growth and mentorship opportunities **Important Note** This role does not provide visa sponsorship.
